Join Sobeys as a Fixed Assets Accountant and play a pivotal role in financial reporting. This full time position can be located in Mississauga, Ontario, focusing on compliance and accuracy. In this 8-month contract role, you will be integral to the Accounting & Control team, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with IFRS standards.
Your work will involve supporting the preparation of financial statements and participating in audits. Candidates should possess robust analytical and communication skills to excel in this position.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post transactions in the fixed asset subledger
- Execute period-end closure and balance reconciliations
- Review financial disclosures for accuracy
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and standards
- Handle project expenditure tracking and reporting
- Degree in Accounting or Business
- Over 2 years of experience in similar roles
- CPA, or pursuing certification
- Knowledge of accounting and fixed asset standards
- Skilled in Excel and SAP desired
