Construction Accountant

Join BUILD IT as a Construction Accountant and leverage your accounting expertise in the fast-paced environment of commercial construction in Mississauga, ON. You'll handle full-cycle accounts payable and vital project cost records.

In this role, reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will manage accounting functions vital to our operations. We seek candidates with 2-3 years of experience, especially in construction, and strong skills in Excel and accounting systems. Your attention to detail and collaborative mindset will be crucial as you support month-end closing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounts payable by processing vendor and subcontractor invoices

• Manage project cost allocations and maintain Work-in-Progress schedules

• Conduct monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

• Calculate and file HST/GST and other statutory returns

• Streamline accounting workflows through existing software

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Accounting or related field

• 2-3 years of accounting experience, ideally in construction

• Hands-on experience with full-cycle AP and reconciliations

• Familiarity with Spectrum or Procore construction systems

• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration
