Accountant, Financial Reporting, Staff Accountant

K2 Group is a diversified investment and management company with a growing portfolio of hotels, restaurants, and real estate holdings across Canada and the United States. We're hiring an Accountant to take ownership of full-cycle accounting across our operating entities.

• Compensation: $50,000–$60,000 per year, plus dental, extended health and paid time off.

• Manage full-cycle accounting: journal entries, accruals, GL maintenance, and month-end close
• Maintain accurate records across multiple legal entities in Quick Books
• Prepare bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations, and resolve reconciling items
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements
• Account for fixed assets, debt, intercompany transactions, and accruals
• Prepare working papers supporting year-end review engagements
• Assist with HST/GST filings and corporate tax support
• Support cash flow reporting and lender reporting requirements
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Identify and resolve accounting issues independently, and improve processes as you go
• Liaise with our external accountants and tax advisors
• Provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed

• 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
• 3+ years working in Quick Books Online
• Hands‑on experience with reconciliations and month‑end close
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and the judgment to resolve issues without being walked through them
• Clear written and verbal communication

• CPA designation, or actively pursuing it
• Post‑secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Experience in hospitality, real estate, or property management
• Multi‑entity accounting exposure
• Familiarity with ADP payroll software
