Your new role

The organization is seeking a Controller to join amercial refrigeration and HVAC business in Scarborough, Ontario. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, overseeing job costing processes, and delivering timely financial insights to support both operational and strategic decision-making. Working closely with ownership, operations teams, and service managers, the Controller will lead the accounting function and provide financial leadership to support the continued growth and success of the business.

What you'll need to succeed

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Master’s degree is a plus.

6+ years of experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing roles.

CPA preferred

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.

Proficiency in the use of MS Office, ERP systems and financial software (eg. Sage, and Coins).

Experience in a service-based HVAC or construction industry preferred

Excellent leadership, analytical, andmunication skills.

Experience with a unionized workforce would be a benefit

Knowledge of Quickbooks is important
