Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

About Our Client

Our client is seeking a Controller for a 6-to-8-month contract.

• Preparation, review, and approval of all account reconciliations with necessary support
• Prepare and review journal entries
• Preparation of accurate financial statements on a timely basis
• Maintain reconciled bank balances
• Sales tax preparation
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies
• Oversee accuracy of weekly billings and payments
• Oversee and support accounting team of two (A/P and A/R)
• Finalize work instructions and propose process improvements in tandem with the team
• Participate in ERP improvement activities
  
  Ensure internal controls are adequate and followed properly
• Ad hoc reporting as requested

• CPA designation required
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field an asset
• Minimum 5-10 years' experience in a senior-level accounting/finance position
• Minimum 3-5 years' management experience
• Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel
• T1/T2 and ERP experience
• Knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations
