Financial Accountant

Metro Supply Chain is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its team in Mississauga, ON. This position focuses on month-end closing, financial reporting, and providing insights into payroll and budgets.

The Accountant will work under the Finance Manager in a dynamic operations finance team comprised of over 20 professionals. You'll be involved in preparing financial entries, analyzing results, and presenting insights to various stakeholders. Your efforts will be essential in supporting strategic financial planning and maintaining compliance with Canadian GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle month-end activities and reconcile balance sheets

• Prepare financial reporting for diverse stakeholders

• Validate payroll postings and manage accruals

• Analyze financial variances against budgets

• Prepare documentation for audits and reviews

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 2-3 years of accounting experience necessary

• Experience with accounting software preferred

• Advanced Excel skills required

• Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP essential
