Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

Our client, a leading Canadian organization, is looking for an experienced Controller to join their finance team.

12-Month Contract | Strong Potential for Extension

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, reconciliations, accruals and journal entries
  .
• Lead the month-end and year-end close and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Review financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reporting and variance analysis
  .
• Manage and provide leadership to the accounting team, including AP/AR staff
  .
• Oversee inventory, cost accounting, cash flow and working capital activities.
• Maintain strong internal controls and support process improvements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide required financial information.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Partner with operations and senior management on accounting and financial matters.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  , including Controller or senior accounting leadership experience.
• Previous experience managing an accounting team, including AP/AR
  .
• Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations and General Ledger accounting
  .
• Strong Excel and ERP/accounting systems experience.
• Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills.
