Trademarks Litigation Legal Assistant
Our Client, a highly respected and well-established firm, is seeking a Trademarks Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a minimum of two years experience who is looking to build their career within a supportive and high-performing environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage due dates and filing deadlines while maintaining filing systems, compiling documents, and organizing materials
- Handle general practice administration, including preparing routine correspondence, processing client invoicing, third-party payables (such as experts and consultants), and expense reimbursements
- Assist law clerks with liaising with and booking court dates, while supporting the preparation of court forms, pleadings, and other court documents as required
- Manage client administrative requirements, billing processes, and conflict searches
- Support the organization of work schedules by maintaining calendars and contacts, scheduling appointments, and coordinating travel arrangements
- Develop expertise in firm policies and applicable administrative procedures
- Demonstrate teamwork by providing support to practice group professionals and staff whenever workload permits
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with external legal counsel, courts, agencies, and professional organizations
- Take on additional responsibilities as requested
Qualifications
- Legal Assistant Diploma
- Minimum 2–5 years of litigation experience within an intellectual property environment, including experience liaising with the Federal Court (experience with Ontario Courts considered an asset)
- Proactive and highly organized with strong proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Power Point
- Familiarity with iManage considered an asset
