In this role, you will work closely with the Utilities Safety team, gaining both field and office experience. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about health and safety, eager to learn, and confident in bringing forward new and innovative ideas.

Co-op term length:
12-months

What You’ll Do

  • Support the EHS team with operational and divisional initiatives
  • Assist EHS Advisors in coordinating safety training and orientation sessions
  • Proactively identify and track safety trends and patterns
  • Coordinate safety meetings and events, including the annual JHSC summit and Senior Leadership Team meetings
  • Support project start-up packages, including preparing required documentation and templates
  • Assist in administering EHS policies, standards, procedures, and programs
  • Coordinate ordering and shipping of safety supplies for project sites and yard locations
  • Participate in site visits and inspections
  • Organize and maintain EHS data, reports, and tracking to ensure compliance with reporting requirements
  • Provide general support to the EHS team as needed
  • What You Bring to the Team

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an Occupational Health & Safety program, part of a co-op program
  • Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational abilities
  • Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and sound judgment
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel within the GTA as required
  • Previous construction industry experience is considered an asset
  • Pay Range: $20 - $25 per hour

    Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
