In this role, you will work closely with the Utilities Safety team, gaining both field and office experience. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about health and safety, eager to learn, and confident in bringing forward new and innovative ideas.
Co-op term length:
12-months
What You’ll Do
Support the EHS team with operational and divisional initiativesAssist EHS Advisors in coordinating safety training and orientation sessionsProactively identify and track safety trends and patternsCoordinate safety meetings and events, including the annual JHSC summit and Senior Leadership Team meetingsSupport project start-up packages, including preparing required documentation and templatesAssist in administering EHS policies, standards, procedures, and programsCoordinate ordering and shipping of safety supplies for project sites and yard locationsParticipate in site visits and inspectionsOrganize and maintain EHS data, reports, and tracking to ensure compliance with reporting requirementsProvide general support to the EHS team as neededWhat You Bring to the Team
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an Occupational Health & Safety program, part of a co-op programStrong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, etc.)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivated with strong organizational abilitiesAble to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environmentWorks well independently and as part of a teamStrong problem-solving, analytical skills, and sound judgmentValid driver’s license and access to reliable transportationWillingness to travel within the GTA as requiredPrevious construction industry experience is considered an assetPay Range: $20 - $25 per hour
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
