Estimator-Project Manager

North Terra Construction Ltd. is a growing earthworks and heavy civil contractor serving the Greater Toronto Area. We specialize in excavation, grading, re-engineering, and large-scale bulk earthworks for industrial, commercial, and institutional projects. We are known for precision, accountability, and a hands‑on leadership team that understands both field operations and business performance.

We are looking for a driven, detail‑oriented Construction Estimator‑Project Manager to join our team and play a key role in securing and pricing upcoming projects and see them through until completion.

The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for excavation and site development projects. This individual will work closely with the operations team to ensure bids reflect real production rates, equipment capabilities, and site constraints.

• Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and tender documents
• Perform quantity take‑offs for:
  • Bulk excavation
  • Footing excavation
  • Re‑engineering of fill
  • Subgrade preparation
  • Asphalt, curb & sidewalk removals
  • Retaining wall excavation
• Analyze grading plans and cut/fill volumes
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Build detailed cost breakdowns including labour, equipment, trucking, disposal, and materials
• Prepare tender submissions and scope clarifications
• Identify risks, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities

• 5+ years of estimating experience in excavation, earthworks, or heavy civil construction
• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Strong understanding of grading, cut/fill balancing, and soil conditions
• Ability to read and interpret civil and structural drawings
• Proficiency in estimating software (experience with Agtek, Bluebeam, Excel preferred)
• Robust mathematical and analytical skills
• Detail‑oriented and organized
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple tenders
• Project Management experience managing Earthworks and Civil projects from tender through completion
