About the Project:
The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will bring the Eglinton Crosstown LRT another 9.2 kilometers farther west, creating a continuous rapid transit line from the east end of Toronto into Mississauga. The Stations, Rail, and Systems (SRS) package encompasses the design, construction, integration, and commissioning of key project components.

Position Overview:

The Station Construction Manager is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of station construction works on major rail transit infrastructure projects delivered by Trillium Rail Partners (TRP). This role oversees all phases of station construction, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, vertical transportation, and finishes scopes within a complex design-build / P3 environment.

The Station Construction Manager plays a critical leadership role in coordinating multidisciplinary construction activities, managing contractors and stakeholders, and ensuring station infrastructure is delivered in accordance with project requirements, schedule commitments, safety standards, and operational readiness objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Construction Leadership & Delivery

Lead and manage all station construction activities from mobilization through substantial completion and handover.

Oversee day-to-day field operations to ensure construction activities are executed safely and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies.

Coordinate station construction sequencing with adjacent guideway, tunnel, utilities, systems, and roadway works.

Monitor productivity, schedule performance, and construction milestones across multiple work fronts.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with TRP safety policies, regulatory requirements, and site-specific safety plans.

Ensure station construction activities comply with applicable building codes, accessibility standards, transit authority requirements, and project specifications.

Oversee QA/QC inspections, testing, deficiency management, and close-out activities.

Design & Technical Coordination

Collaborate with design and technical teams to address constructability issues and maintain alignment with design intent.

Review and support approval of shop drawings, RFIs, method statements, work plans, and technical submittals.

Coordinate implementation of design revisions and ensure impacts to schedule, cost, and interfaces are effectively managed.

Stakeholder & Interface Management

Act as the primary construction interface for station works, coordinating with subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, municipalities, utility providers, and third‑party stakeholders.

Support coordination with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and transit agencies.

Manage impacts to public access, traffic, pedestrian routing, and adjacent properties in urban construction environments.

Project Controls & Reporting

Provide regular reporting on progress, safety performance, risks, and key construction milestones.

Proactively identify and mitigate construction risks, interface conflicts, and logistical challenges.

Support claims avoidance and resolution through effective documentation and issue management.

Commissioning & Handover

Support testing, commissioning, integrated systems coordination, and turnover activities.

Ensure completion of as‑built documentation, deficiency close‑out, and operational handover requirements.

Coordinate with systems integration and operations teams to support readiness for revenue service.

Qualifications:

Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.

Significant experience managing station, commercial, institutional, or major infrastructure construction projects.

Proven experience in design‑build and/or P3 project environments.

Strong understanding of multidisciplinary station construction, including architectural, structural, MEP, and systems integration.

Experience working in urban, brownfield, or live‑operating environments is highly desirable.

Experience managing unionized construction work forces is an asset.
