What we offer

As a member of the Architecture Department, the Architectural Coordinator supports the planning, coordination and delivery of Mattamy Homes communities. Working closely with the Architectural Project Manager, external Architects and Structural Engineers, and internal teams including Construction, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing and Land, this role ensures architectural deliverables meet Mattamy standards, project schedules, municipal requirements and the Ontario Building Code.

All architectural design services are completed through external architectural consultants. The Architectural Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, reviewing and managing consultant deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

What you’ll do
  • Coordinate architectural deliverables for assigned communities, ensuring projects remain aligned with schedules, budgets and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with external Architects, Structural Engineers and consultants on drawings, revisions, approvals and outstanding issues.
  • Review architectural working drawings for accuracy, coordination, constructability, Mattamy standards and OBC compliance.
  • Coordinate revisions resulting from municipal comments, structural changes, construction requirements and internal stakeholder feedback.
  • Track project deliverables, identify potential issues and follow up with internal and external stakeholders to drive timely resolution.
  • Support Construction by coordinating drawing updates, RFIs, field issues and site-related architectural requirements.
  • Review exterior materials, colours, elevations and architectural detailing for consistency with approved designs.
  • Assist with product and design development, including floor plans, elevations, options, upgrades and architectural controls.
  • Participate in Value Engineering and provide input on practical, cost-effective and buildable design solutions.
  • Prepare architectural memos, sketches, details, mark-ups and other project documentation as required.
  • Assist with project budgets and quarterly estimated cost-to-complete reporting.
  • Maintain organized electronic records and distribution of current architectural and construction documentation.
  • Build strong working relationships across Architecture, Construction, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing, Land and external consultants.
What you bring
  • Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, Building Technology or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of architectural, construction or residential development experience, preferably in low-rise residential.
  • Strong understanding of architectural working drawings and residential construction.
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve drawing and coordination issues.
