We are looking for a creative and motivated Spatial Designer to join our Product & Design team and help transform public spaces into functional, engaging, and user-centered environments.

About the Role

The Spatial Designer develops furniture layouts and design concepts for airports, transportation hubs, government facilities, and other public spaces. Working closely with Sales, Product & Design, Marketing, and clients, this role combines space planning, design visualization, and problem-solving to create environments that balance aesthetics, functionality, accessibility, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities Space Planning & Design
  • Create innovative furniture layouts using Arconas and partner products.
  • Develop spaces that support waiting, working, socializing, relaxation, and circulation.
  • Optimize capacity, accessibility, passenger flow, and user experience.
  • Apply furniture planning principles, including scale, proportion, clearances, and circulation paths.
  • Incorporate accessibility requirements and power integration into layouts.
  • Prepare accurate furniture plans using AutoCAD.
  • Develop 3D models, layouts, and spatial concepts in Sketch Up.
  • Create renderings, presentations, and visual materials for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain CAD libraries, 3D models, and drawing standards.
  • Partner with Account Managers and clients to understand project objectives and requirements.
  • Present concepts and provide creative solutions to design challenges.
  • Collaborate across Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Marketing teams.
  • Support projects from concept through final layout and presentation.
Product & Creative Support
  • Develop layouts for trade shows, showrooms, and product launches.
  • Explore new ways to showcase products and applications.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Arconas' product portfolio and configurations.
  • Contribute ideas for new product applications and design opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in furniture space planning, contract furniture, commercial interiors, hospitality, workplace, or similar environments.
  • Experience working with architectural floor plans and furniture layouts.
  • Strong understanding of spatial planning, circulation, scale, and user behavior.
  • Experience with public spaces, transportation, healthcare, education, hospitality, or institutional projects is an asset.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Sketch Up
    .
  • Experience with Enscape, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite
    , and rendering software is an asset.
  • Ability to create professional 3D visualizations and presentations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
