Digital Culture and Society
Course description: Digital culture explores the intersections of human culture and digital technology. How do digital technologies – including the internet and social media – shape identity, groups, and institutions? How do they shape our interactions, experiences, and practices? What kinds of shifts have we seen over time in the interrelationship between digital culture and society?

Salary
:
Minimum stipend $9,820.70 for a Half course (inclusive of vacation pay) to be paid in equal installments

Minimum qualification
:
Candidates must have a PhD in Sociology or equivalent as demnstrated by refereed/published research, strong academic record, previous experience teaching a similar course, and evidence of teaching excellence in the subject covered in the course are preferred.

Description of duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours; supervising TA’s assigned to course; order all necessary readings.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
