Part-Time Skate Instructor

Position: Part-Time Learn to Skate Instructor
Join the City of Mississauga as a Part-Time Learn to Skate Instructor for Fall and Winter 2026. Teach essential skating skills to participants aged 3 and up while enjoying flexible evening and weekend hours.

We are seeking 25 enthusiastic instructors to deliver group ice skating lessons across various community arenas. Duties involve preparing lesson plans, ensuring participant safety, and providing excellent customer service. The role requires strong communication and leadership skills to effectively teach and evaluate students' skating progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach group lessons with 4-10 participants

• Ensure ongoing safety during ice skating lessons

• Prepare inclusive lesson plans tailored to participants

• Inspect skating equipment for proper fit and safety

• Evaluate student progress and complete progress cards

Requirements:

• Minimum 15 years of age

• Valid First Aid and CPR certification

• HIGH FIVE Principles certification

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to stand/skate for extended periods
