Sessional LecturerI, effective September1,2026, the minimum stipend rate inclusive of vacation pay is $9,997.47 (0.5
FCE). Rates in the collective agreement prevail if they differ.
Minimum TA Support: 0.75 hours per enrolled student.
Course description (LEC0101)
Monday9‑11am:
Theoretical ideas and practical applications concerning individual and group behaviour in organisations. Topics include motivation, influence, communication, supervision, decision‑making, and workforce diversity. [24L]
Sessional Lecturers are expected to have superior teaching ability, with suitable academic and/or professional qualifications, currency and mastery of the subject matter. Successful applicants will have clearly demonstrated teaching excellence in the subject matter through previous experience teaching the course in question, or very similar courses.
Preferred QualificationsSuccessful applicants will typically have significant experience applying the subject matter in a practical workplace.
DutiesThe duties of Sessional Lecturers include the normal duties associated with the design and teaching of university degree credit courses or sections of courses. These include preparation and delivery of course content, creation of courseware, development and administration of assignments, tests and examinations, marking and grading of student work and submission of grades to appropriate university officials in accordance with policy, maintaining reasonable hours of student contact outside scheduled contact hours, and supervising the day‑to‑day work of any Sessional Instructional Assistants or Teaching Assistants assigned to the course.
