Turning Concepts into Curatorial Projects
Students will research and develop a curatorial project proposal in the form of an exhibition, a public installation, a public event, a performance, a website, etc., as the culminating assignment for the course. The emphasis of the course will be on the application of knowledge gained in FAH
310H5 and consideration of the multi-level preparatory stages entailed in the mounting of a curatorial project, placing particular emphasis on conceptualization and methodology, and on the premise that curatorial practice is an intellectual endeavour that manifests its ideas in form. Students will learn how to turn a concept into a project proposal and become equipped to develop innovative solutions to future challenges in curatorial practice.

Minimum qualifications:
Graduate degrees in Art History. A Ph.D is essential. Mastery of the subject area is required. Demonstrated excellence in teaching a similar DVS course previously is required. Experience as a sole responsibility course instructor is an asset.
Description of duties: (May include but are not limited to): all normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course material, preparation and delivery of assignments, tests and/or exams, supervision of teaching assistants, marking of students’ work, submission of grades to university officials, and holding regular office hours.
Scheduling of guest speakers is limited to one week class session.
