High School Math Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Employment Type: Part Time

Pay: $20.00 to $21.00 per hour

Location: Oxford Learning Mississauga Meadowvale, Mississauga, Ontario

Motivated by mathematics? Excited by equations? Eager to help students succeed in math? Gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford Learning Mississauga Meadowvale is currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills.

Teacher‑tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson‑plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will receive full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements
  • Work after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm).
  • Commitment until the end of the term in June; continuing through the summer is even better.
  • In‑person role – must be able to commute to this location. Relocation packages are not available.
  • Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Education
  • Currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
  • Teaching certification is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math curriculum, especially senior math (advanced functions, data management, calculus, vectors).
Experience
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level.
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
Responsibilities
  • Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
  • Work in‑person following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
  • Fill in post‑lesson notes.
  • Complete daily student communication updates.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Schedule
  • Monday and Wednesday: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
  • Tuesday and Thursday: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
  • Saturday availability (9:00 am – 1:00 pm).
