As a Senior Advanced Test Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that products and systems can withstand the environmental stresses they may encounter during their lifecycle. This position focuses on testing and evaluating products in various environmental conditions such as temperature extremes, vibration, and other factors that can affect performance and reliability.
You will report directly to our Sr Test Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Mississauga, ON location.
In this role, you be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing environmental tests to validate product performance and reliability under specified conditions. This position requires collaboration with product design and development teams to ensure products meet regulatory compliance and customer expectations. A strong foundation in electronic principles, along with problem-solving skills to address engineering challenges, is required.
The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP security clearance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Document test procedures, results, and recommendations for design improvements.
Develop test software using National Instruments Lab Windows and Test Stand to automate product testing, focusing on technician needs (HMI).Develop prototypes and models to test and evaluate the functionality and feasibility of electronic test designs.
Create detailed electronic schematics and review layouts for circuit boards, selecting components and designing equipment test racks using a combination of COTS and custom equipment.
Develop and present Test Equipment Preliminary and Critical Design presentations at Design Reviews to internal and external customers.
Conduct tests such as thermal cycling and vibration to assess product reliability and performance.
Conduct Measurement System Analysis to assess equipment performance and create reports and presentations for Test Readiness.
Collaborate with the Engineering support team to troubleshoot equipment issues and improve equipment downtime.
Perform trend analysis and recommendations for test improvements.
Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and product management teams to identify and formalize test requirements and specifications.
Collaborate with project leads from conception through production, working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on time.
Create Basis of Estimate (BOE) to support Test Leads and work closely with vendors to obtain quotations and timely deliveries.
Participate in planning meetings providing inputs for product testability.
Work closely with software engineers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electronic test systems with overall product designs.
Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate project status, results, and recommendations to management and clients.
Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement efforts to enhance the environmental testing processes.
Assist in maintaining certifications by coordinating with external testing labs and auditors.
