As an Intern Mechanical Design Engineer at Honeywell, you will be assisting in the design and development of innovative mechanical solutions for our aerospace customers. You will be helping drive the mechanical design process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable products.

You will report directly to the Sr. Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of the Mississauga, ON location.

In this role, you will be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge in developing innovative and cost-effective electronic packaging solutions for a variety of aerospace-related products. You will assist in the design of products that not only meet customer requirements, but also meet product quality and manufacturability targets. You will be supporting a variety of projects including new product development, product improvement, process improvement, prototype builds, qualification testing and factory support.

This internship will start in May of 2026.

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP security clearance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the mechanical design process, from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications.
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies.
  • Assist on a variety of engineering analyses, including structural, thermal, and durability.
  • Perform CAD based modeling
  • Provide factory support to resolve production/customer issues
  • YOU MUST HAVE

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • WE VALUE

  • Experience with CAD software.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with mechanical analysis and simulation tools to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
