You as an Energy Analyst, Fault Detection & Diagnostics will:

  • Improve sustainability and energy efficiency in built environment
  • Analyze building automation system and energy metering trends for anomalies, faults, and inefficiencies
  • Work on-site with multi disciplinary teams to conduct root cause analysis and correction of identified faults
  • Perform analysis of facilities to optimize energy performance and tenant comfort
  • Analysis and review equipment trends for reliability to ensure continuous operation and minimize downtime Be a member of highly technical teams committed to investigating and optimizing energy efficiency and cost saving measures
  • Provide recommendations to improve building performance and efficiency
  • Extract, analysis and interpret energy and building system data
  • Diagnose faulty equipment and sensors, and energy waste in buildings
  • Review operational trends of equipment for malperformance and degradation
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all submetering, building automation, and mechanical and electrical systems
  • Coordinate the troubleshooting and resolution of HVAC equipment amongst building engineers, specialty contractors, and engineers
  • Explore opportunities to implement energy savings measures in various buildings
  • Conduct savings analysis of energy retrofit projects
  • Develop tools to visualize building energy trends in data visualization software’s (e.g., Power

    BI)
  • Present energy related building trends via reports and presentations to external and internal stakeholders
  • Perform building energy audits of building energy models in order to develop thorough client reports outlining year-over-year energy consumption and performance
  • Is this the right role for you?

  • 1-5 years related experience
  • Background in mechanical, electrical or building engineering (diploma or undergraduate degree)
  • Engineering and/or energy related credentials (e.g., CEM, CMVP, P.Eng, C.E.T, EIT. etc.)
  • Familiar with engineering and construction documentation (e.g., schematics, shop drawings, floor plans, etc.)
  • Strong background in HVAC and building automation systems
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office
  • Understanding of computer programming languages (e.g., Python, Visual Basics) is considered an asset
  • Understanding of API and SQL query languages is considered an asset
