Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Linear Infrastructure Site Inspector to be based in one of our Toronto area offices with diversified experience in site inspection and administration activities for linear Infrastructure (sewers & water systems) projects including traditional open cut, trenchless, and sewer & water rehabilitation.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Working safely and in conformance with GHD’s Behaviour-Based Safety cultureVerifying that construction work complies with drawings, specifications, and contract requirementsMeasuring and documenting quantities of work completed to support progress payment certificationPreparing clear and consistent daily inspection reportsIdentifying, documenting, and tracking construction deficiencies through to resolutionCompleting day-to-day inspections and checklists for water or wastewater linear projects including open-cut, trenchless, sewer, and water applicationsMonitoring Contractor work for compliance with contract requirementsMaintaining project records including diary entries and collecting as-built informationRecording and monitoring contractor progress against the project scheduleMaking payment recommendations to Contract AdministratorMonitoring contractor work for compliance with applicable safety and environmental legislationTaking action, in consultation with Contract Administrator and in accordance with contract requirements, when non-conformances are observed.Identifying and making recommendations to proactively resolve emerging project issues.Coordinating contractor’s work activities with the client, approval authorities, and utility providersCoordinating material testing and supporting commissioning activitiesCoordinating and expediting contractor documentation including shop drawings, work plans, and test reportsCollaborating with residents and local property owners to record and resolve field-level issues.Completing required training including First Aid and Working at Heights.Work outdoors in all weather conditionsWorking nights, weekends, and overtime hours as necessaryMentoring junior staffOther duties as assigned.What you will bring to the team:
Post-secondary education in civil engineering or related discipline. CET designation, PEO EIT or . designation, or equivalent is an asset.Minimum of five (5) years' experience in linear underground and transportation infrastructure projects.Experience providing onsite inspection services of linear and transportation municipal infrastructure projects, providing material testing, and assessing relevant codes, standards and regulatory guidelinesCity of Toronto experience is an asset.Valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license and a vehicleStrong teamwork ability with strong written and oral communication skillsSound judgment and ability to work independently and take initiative.Experience in the design of sewer & water main workBuilterra, AutoCAD, MS Project, and Primavera P6 experience is an asset.
