The Hatch provides an opportunity for an Intermediate or Senior Civil Engineer to work on several ongoing projects from the Mississauga office. This role involves general civil engineering and design activities such as site preparation, grading, drainage, roads, paving and related tasks for mining and heavy industrial projects. The successful candidate may lead civil projects related to mining, energy or infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

Managing civil projects to completion, covering bulk earthworks, site drainage, mine and plant roads, and earth and mine tailings structures design.

QA/QC of design calculations and contract documents.

Assuming responsibilities of discipline practice on assigned project scope.

Working collaboratively with project managers and multi-discipline design teams.

Quality control – drawing and calculations checking and verification.

Qualifications

Experience managing and leading projects within Civil Engineering Discipline.

Civil Engineering degree from a recognized engineering program.

Licensed Engineer within the province of Ontario preferred.

Project Management experience with small-to-mid size projects.

Site grading design.

Drainage design, storm sewers design and storm management.

Roads design.

Sanitary sewers design.

Hydrology and hydraulics.

Thorough understanding of the design process and application of civil design software packages.

Previous design experience in bulk earthworks, site grading, storm drainage, access and haul roads and earth structures for large-size projects.

Ability to manage competing priorities and time effectively.

Previous experience leading, mentoring and motivating junior civil engineers.

Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills; self-motivated and quick to deliver on projects.

Base Salary Range
$85,000 - $120,000
