Junior Electrical Estimator

Overview

Commerce Electric Co. Inc. is an electrical contracting and engineering company established in 1974. We actively undertake electrical contracts in the Industrial and Commercial market segments. We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Electrical Estimator with two to three years of experience in electrical estimation to join our Electrical team. Job responsibilities include reviewing project specifications and drawings and assisting the Senior Estimator in preparing accurate project cost estimates.

This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse electrical projects, utilizing advanced estimating tools and techniques to deliver competitive and precise bids.

• Develop comprehensive estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Utilize estimating software such as Accu Bid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed cost analyses.
• Assist the Senior Estimator by collaborating with clients and subcontractors to gather labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs to ensure accurate pricing.
• Prepare bid proposals and assist in the presentation of estimates to stakeholders.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction industry trends, materials, and pricing strategies.
• Assist in the review of project scope changes and update estimates accordingly.
• Support project management teams during project execution by providing cost control insights.

• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Accu Bid, and other estimating or project management software.
• Robust communication skills to liaise with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Solid understanding of electrical estimating principles and techniques.
• Experience with electrical projects from inception through completion.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost analysis.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Interest in electrical estimating in a collaborative environment that values precision, strategic thinking, and industry expertise.
