Overview
We are Lincoln Food service, a global leader in commercial cooking equipment. We are seeking an Engineering Lab Technician to join our Engineering Team at our Mississauga, Ontario facility. The role is full‑time, permanent and focuses on hands‑on work on commercial appliances, including high‑amperage electrical equipment and combustible fuel gas systems.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in prototyping, assembly and troubleshooting of new and existing appliances.
- Prepare test setups and perform laboratory tests for regulatory compliance and product development.
- Collect and analyze test data, prepare accurate technical reports and document findings in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
- Learn complex test procedures and operation of specialized test equipment; develop expertise in this area.
- Follow, help develop and enforce laboratory procedures and maintain the safety of the laboratory.
- Become familiar with the different equipment product lines and the particulars of how each model operates.
- Maintain lab cleanliness, organization, and calibration schedules for all testing equipment.
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronics, HVAC, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a lab, R&D, or product testing role, preferably in appliance or gas and electric equipment industries.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and report writing.
- Hands‑on experience with lab tools and instruments.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and test procedures.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Solid organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with a variety of tools and electrical concepts.
- TSSA Gas Technician Certificate G.3 or G.2.
- Familiarity with gas systems, combustion principles, and pressure/flow measurement tools, gas regulators, orifices, burners, and igniters.
- Experience working on electrical appliances or electrical systems.
- Knowledge of UL/ANSI/CSA/EN/IEC standards for gas and electric appliances.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills (duplicate but included for emphasis).
- Heavy computer use.
- Heavy lab environment.
- Must be able to stand, walk and sit for extended periods.
