Professional Senior, Engineering - Avionics Systems
Bombardier is looking for a Senior Avionics Systems Engineer to support the development, testing, certification, production, and in‑service support of avionics for our Global 7500/8000 aircraft. The role is a regular, full‑time position in Mississauga, Canada.
Responsibilities- Define and manage engineering‑related system and subsystem requirements to meet safety and certification objectives.
- Work with system suppliers and interfacing disciplines to ensure proper system design and aircraft integration.
- Lead the timely integration of systems such as AFCS, communication (VHF, HF, SATCOM, Datalink), navigation (ADF, VOR, ILS, DME, TCAS, transponder, IRS, GPS, FMS, weather radar), displays (EFIS, EICAS, HUD, SVS), and information/maintenance & recording (IMS, OMS, CVR, FDR, AHMS) on the aircraft.
- Review, analyze, and approve test results and manage deliverables from avionics system suppliers.
- Support ARP
4754 system and aircraft verification and validation activities. - Liaise with Certifying Authorities and help achieve system certification.
- Resolve engineering design issues and manage closure.
- Participate in software development for crew alerting logic, synoptics pages, and I/O configuration in an IMA environment.
- University degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience ranging from junior to senior level.
- Strong knowledge of avionics systems and experience with IMA, DO-178, DO-160, DO-254, and ARP
4754. - Demonstrated ability to manage system integration and certification deliverables.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Team‑oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
- Base salary range: CAD $104,000 – $128,000 per year (subject to experience and qualifications).
