Role Overview
The Project Technologist, Environmental Due Diligence & Remediation (EDR), supports a wide range of environmental assessment and remediation projects related to property transactions, redevelopment, and regulatory compliance. This role works closely with Project Managers and senior technical staff to deliver Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Excess Soil planning documents, support Record of Site Condition (RSC) and Certificate of Property Use (CPU) work, and assist with remediation and monitoring programs across Ontario.
The Project Technologist has the opportunity to collaborate with other business lines—including Risk Assessment, Building Science and Sustainability, and Geotechnical teams—to contribute to the successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects.
Responsibilities
Support and perform Phase I and Phase II ESAs in accordance with CSA Standards.
Support and perform field work and reporting related to Excess Soil planning documents outlined in Ontario Regulation 406/19.
Support and perform Phase One and Phase Two ESAs in accordance with Ontario Regulation 153/04 related to RSC submissions.
Support and perform field work and reporting related to CPU monitoring.
Conduct a broad range of field work including groundwater monitoring, soil, groundwater, soil vapour and indoor air sampling, cap investigations, excavation oversight, remediation oversight, emergency spill response, underground storage tank removals, pit inspections, hydraulic conductivity testing, and oversight of private utility locates.
Coordinate with subcontractors, laboratories, site representatives, clients, and internal project teams.
Follow established health, safety, and quality procedures during field and office work.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in a related discipline, preferably Environmental Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
0-2 years of experience in environmental consulting or a related technical role.
Working knowledge of Ontario Regulation 153/04, Ontario Regulation 406/19 and CSA Site Assessment Standards.
Strong technical writing and field documentation skills, with attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Earth and BoreD considered an asset.
Valid driver’s license, insurance, and access to a personal vehicle (work‑related travel expenses reimbursed).
Willingness to travel with occasional travel within the GTA and southwestern Ontario.
Flexibility to work outside standard business hours as needed (evenings, weekends) and overtime hours.
Compensation And Assessment
Pay ranges are listed as required by law. Final compensation reflects each candidate’s education, experience, qualifications, and work location.

Additional Information
