We are currently retained on behalf of a leading international packaging automation and engineered systems business to identify a Vice President of Engineering to lead and develop their engineering organization in Canada.

This is a critical leadership appointment for a business investing heavily into the North American market, with a solid focus on complex automated packaging systems, complete line solutions, and advanced engineering capabilities across Food & Beverage, Pharma, and Med Tech sectors.

The Vice President of Engineering will play a key role within the senior leadership team, taking responsibility for engineering strategy, innovation, team development, project execution, and operational excellence.

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering organization across mechanical, electrical, controls, and systems engineering
• Drive engineering strategy aligned with broader business objectives and long-term growth plans
• Build scalable engineering processes, standards, and best practices
• Strengthen collaboration across engineering, operations, sales, and project management teams
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and quality standards
• Support current product development, innovation initiatives, and continuous improvement activities
• Develop and mentor engineering leadership and emerging technical talent
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence

• Proven engineering leadership experience within packaging machinery, industrial automation, capital equipment, or complex engineered systems
• Strong background managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Experience driving engineering transformation, process improvement, and organizational development
• Understanding of European engineering standards and machine design philosophies is highly desirable
• Track record of leading large-scale engineering projects and complex customer solutions
• Strong commercial awareness combined with strategic leadership capability
• Experience with in Food & Beverage, Pharma, Med Tech, or related highly regulated industries is advantageous
