Looking to get the most out of your upcoming internship?

Hatch is currently seeking a Process or Mechanical Engineering Student to join its Mississauga office. The candidate will report to the Industrial Clean Tech group and should have a strong interest in environmental air pollution control and/or mine ventilation.

Gas handling, including design of air pollution control systems, is a key component of all modern industrial facilities. Similarly, mine ventilation has taken on an even greater importance in mine design and operation with more stringent air quality standards and deeper mines. Hatch’s Industrial Clean Tech practice, comprised of over 50 engineering specialists with decades of experience in air pollution control, mine ventilation and gas handling systems, focuses on responding to our clients’ needs with respect to engineering new facilities, debottlenecking or otherwise improving existing facilities, reducing their air emissions, maintaining environmental compliance and improving workplace hygiene to ensure their plant or mine’s full productivity potential is reached.

    As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Perform mass and energy balances and prepare process flow diagrams.
  • Actively participate in preparing technical calculations, reports, specifications, and datasheets
  • Data analysis and computer simulation using specialty software.
  • Travel and perform on site measurements.
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team, with a focus on Industrial Clean Tech projects.
  • Meetings and collaboration with client teams.
  • What you will learn

  • Working towards a degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada. Currently in 3rd or 4th year preferred.
