Job Description & How to Apply Below
Your role Lead the development and execution of Balance of Plant (BOP) electrical engineering strategies for large-scale power generation projects. Defined electrical design criteria, technical requirements, engineering priorities, and project deliverable schedules to support project objectives. Reviewed and approved key technical decisions while driving design standardization and implementation of lessons learned across projects. Managed the design, integration, and delivery of critical electrical systems including Main Generator interfaces, Generator Step-Up Transformers (GSU), Unit Auxiliary Transformers, Station Service Systems, MV/LV distribution systems, Emergency Power Systems, DC systems, UPS systems, switch gear, MCCs, grounding and lightning protection systems.
Directed electrical infrastructure design encompassing electrical buildings, cable routing and management, electrical heat tracing, and yard electrical systems. Served as the primary lead for electrical interfaces between Balance of Plant systems and Nuclear Island facilities. Led utility interface management activities, coordinating technical discussions with utilities, transmission authorities, and stakeholders regarding grid interconnection requirements. Supported grid connection strategy development through load flow, stability, fault, protection, and control studies.
Collaborated with major industry stakeholders including OPG, Bruce Power, IESO, and transmission service providers to ensure regulatory and technical compliance. Coordinated multidisciplinary engineering interfaces across Civil & Structural, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C), Turbine Generator, Cooling Water Systems, Construction Planning, and Plant Layout teams. Resolved cross-functional design challenges and ensured alignment between electrical engineering solutions and overall plant performance objectives.
Established technical requirements for procurement packages and supported preparation of RFP/RFQ documentation. Led technical bid evaluations, supplier qualification reviews, and vendor clarification meetings to support procurement and contracting activities. Managed vendor technical deliverables, design reviews, and contract execution support throughout the project lifecycle. Supported project planning activities including schedule development, cost estimation, risk identification, and business case preparation. Monitored engineering progress, identified technical risks, and implemented mitigation strategies to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
Prepared engineering progress updates and supported project management reviews, stakeholder presentations, and decision-making processes. Participated in constructability reviews and provided technical support for field engineering issues during construction phases. Supported commissioning planning, system turnover, startup activities, and integrated testing programs to ensure successful plant energization and operation. Ensured timely delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables while supporting project schedule, budget, and risk management objectives.
Fostered effective coordination among engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to achieve project milestones and successful grid integration.
