Nature and Scope Objective
Work closely with Ellis Don MEiT Electrical & ICAT Design and Pre-construction team across Ellis Don business sectors and various business areas on pursuits and active projects.
As a Senior Design Coordinator, Electrical & ICAT you will:
Assist in pre-construction services for various sectors where electrical systems are more complex (health care, mission critical, justice and educational)
Assist in the review and provide input on conceptual electrical design and technology approach on building system solutions in order to provide a complete and competitive bid for design build pursuits
Analyzing the design against the project requirements identified by the client
Assist in the review of sub-trades financial submission and evaluate the bid is competitiveness and compliance
Assist in the preparation of the subtrade scope delineation matrices and other process tools to assure no scope gaps or scope overlap between MEIT during pursuit
Assist in the preparation of budget target for the electrical/ICAT scope during the pursuit
Coordinating drawings, narratives and visual presentations for the design presentation meetings and submissions
Ensure the electrical design solutions are well understood by the Project Team and implemented during construction and operations phase of the project
Liases directly with the design team, the consultant team, the trade contractors and other members of the project team on a regular basis.
Support the estimating team during the pursuit and the construction team after the pursuit to establish the temporary power and lighting required during construction (includes developing single line diagrams, preparing load calculations and lighting calculations)
Liaison with the Utilities (power and communications) for new (construction and permanent) site services

Experience with various Engineering Applications (Revit, AutoCAD, ETAP...)
Other Responsibilities
Perform additional assignments as directed by superiors
Closely monitor and track Astley Gilbert invoicing to ensure costing is correct
Knowledge, Skills and Experience    2+ years or more of design experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
Ability to obtain P.Eng license is an asset.
Design experience on utility projects is an asset
Must have solid knowledge of the governing Codes and Standards for buildings. Has solid knowledge of high and low voltage systems.
