Join Credit Valley Conservation as a Hydrology and Hydraulic Specialist dedicated to environmental protection. This full-time role supports floodplain regulation and risk assessment initiatives.
In this permanent position, you will report directly to the Manager of Hydrology and Hydraulics. The role requires expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, particularly using software like HECRAS and ArcGIS. You will support flood risk assessments and play a key role in managing projects related to water level and flow management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain hydrology and hydraulic models
• Prepare comprehensive floodplain hazard and risk maps
• Conduct flood risk assessments and manage related databases
• Operate flood forecasting models for timeliness and accuracy
• Collaborate with professionals to improve policies
Requirements:
• Degree in Water Resources Engineering or related field
• 3-5 years hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience
• Strong communication and project coordination skills
• Knowledge of stormwater control and provincial policies
• Proficiency in MS Office and hydraulic modeling software
