The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will bring the Eglinton Crosstown LRT another 9.2 kilometres farther west, creating a continuous rapid transit line from the east end of Toronto into Mississauga. The Stations, Rail, and Systems (SRS) package encompasses the design, construction, integration, and commissioning of key project components.
Position Overview:The Track Structures Technical Coordinatorwillprovidetechnicalandcoordinationsupportforthedesign ,construction,andintegrationoftrack-relatedstructuresontheECWE-SRSproject.
Thisroleensuresallstructuralworksassociatedwiththerailwaytracksystemareexecutedsafely,efficiently,andinaccordancewithprojectspecifications,quality standards,andschedulerequirements.
- Coordinatethedesignandconstructionactivitiesfortrack-related structures,including bridges,retaining walls,culverts,andothersupportinginfrastructure.
- Reviewtechnicaldrawings,specifications,andsubmittalstoensurecompliancewithprojectrequirementsandapplicablestandards.
- Collaboratewithengineering,construction,andqualityteamstoresolvetechnicalissuesandensurealignmentacrossdisciplines.
- Supportfieldteamsbyprovidingtechnicalguidanceandensuringdesignintentismaintainedduringconstruction.
- Monitorprogressofstructuralworksandassistinmaintainingaccuratedocumentation,reports,andchangerecords.
- Liaisewithsubcontractors,consultants,andclientrepresentativestoensuretimelyexchangeoftechnicalinformationandapprovals.
- Participateininspections,testing,andqualityassuranceactivitiesfortrackstructurecomponents.
- Contributetoriskassessments,constructability reviews,andinterfacecoordinationmeetings.
- Ensurethatallworksadheretosafety,environmental,andregulatoryrequirements.
- Degreeor Diplomain Civilor Structural Engineeringorrelateddiscipline .
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil or rail infrastructure projects, with specific exposure to track structures
- Strongunderstandingofrailwaydesignstandards,construction methodologies,andstructuralsystems.
- Experiencewithtechnicalcoordinationbetweendesignandconstructionteams.
- Excellent communication,documentation,and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiencyinreadingandinterpretingtechnicaldrawingsandspecifications.
- Workingknowledgeofrelevantsoftwaretools(AutoCAD,Bluebeam,MSOffice,etc.).
- Familiarity with Metrolinx or other major rail infrastructure projects is an asset.
