What you will be doing:
Review, approve and file the monthly GST/HST and PST remittances as well as provide support with income tax provision.Review sample invoices each period and self-assess PST to ensure PST tax compliance across provinces to ensure PST compliance all provinces.Liaison with IT, POS and Merchandise systems team to ensure accuracy of tax rates across various systems and across all provinces.Manage provincial and federal audits for direct and indirect taxes as well as communicating with the external auditors for audit requirements and providing required documentation and data to support the audits.Manage the environmental programs compliance including reviewing the prepared data and approving the filing of monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reporting. Engage with McKesson Canada as a business partner to keep apprised of provincial legislative changes and determine impact to the business.Collaborate with the McKesson Canada Tax team and other Rexall Finance functions to prepare and provide Income Tax working papers and supporting documents/schedules/positions to support the annual tax filings.Provide Finance support to the Rexall Care Network team for bookkeeping, preparation of monthly financial statements, donations payments, Golf sponsorship reconciliation, Year End filings as well support the annual audit.Manage the pension accounting and provide support with pension initiatives, year-end audit and pension financial statements.Manage Loan interest schedule including reviewing and approving loan interest journals and interest payments.Oversee all aspects of parking tax including reconciliation of monthly reports, and leading audits associated with Parking revenue and tax.Review, approve and file monthly, quarterly and annual statutory Canada compliance reporting.Identify foreign workers for withholding tax and complete statutory reporting.Perform other duties as assigned.How will you succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting requiredGood working knowledge of GST/HST/PST tax rules across different provincesUnderstanding of environmental legislations across different provincesEnrollment in CPA/CGA/CMA accounting designation2-3 years experience with enterprise software (JD Edwards an asset)Ability to meet month end deadlineAdvanced knowledge of Excel.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAt Rexall, we are better together.
