The Director of Financial Operations will oversee key financial operations with a strong focus on risk management, underwriting, dealer account exposure, billing, collections, and floorplan program oversight. This role will play a critical part in protecting Otolane’s financial position while supporting the growth and success of its dealer network.

Position Overview

As an integral part of the Otolane leadership team, the Director of Financial Operations will be responsible for managing and strengthening the company’s financial operations and risk controls.

The ideal candidate is an analytical and decisive financial professional with strong experience in credit, underwriting, accounts receivable, collections, and financial risk management. This role requires someone who can assess risk, identify potential exposure, establish appropriate controls, and confidently manage sensitive financial situations.

The Director of Financial Operations will work closely with senior leadership, Dealer Support, Operations, and Sales to ensure dealer accounts are appropriately managed and financial processes operate effectively.

Responsibilities And Duties

Oversee financial risk management across dealer accounts and transactions.

Lead dealer underwriting, credit assessment, account approvals, credit limits, and ongoing risk monitoring.

Oversee the company’s floorplan program, including regular lot audits, compliance reviews, exposure monitoring, and resolution of discrepancies.

Manage billing, accounts receivable, payment processes, and outstanding balances.

Oversee collections and delinquent accounts, including escalations and recovery efforts.

Monitor dealer exposure, payment history, account balances, and overall credit risk.

Develop and maintain financial policies, controls, and processes to minimize risk.

Oversee high-profile and sensitive buyer accounts and financial matters.

Identify financial risks and operational gaps and implement appropriate solutions.

Prepare and monitor reporting related to receivables, collections, dealer exposure, floorplan activity, and financial risk.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure financial policies and account requirements are consistently applied.

Provide financial and risk-related insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications, Education & Other Requirements

5+ years of experience in financial operations, credit, underwriting, risk management, accounting, collections, or a related field.

Strong experience with credit assessment, underwriting, accounts receivable, and collections.

Experience with floorplan financing, automotive dealerships, automotive remarketing, lending, or a similar environment is considered an asset.

Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify financial risk and discrepancies.

Strong judgment and confidence in making risk-based decisions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with financial systems, CRM platforms, and standard office applications.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Strong ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $75,000–$115,000 per year, commensurate with experience
