The City of Mississauga invites applications for two Planner in Training positions as part of a 36-month program. Interns will rotate through various divisions within the Planning and Building Department, gaining valuable knowledge in areas including land use planning and zoning regulations. Successful candidates will engage in research, prepare documentation, and support community initiatives while working toward their RPP and MCIP accreditation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review development applications and zoning by-laws
• Conduct research on planning policies and trends
• Produce reports and written communications
• Analyze statistical data for project insight
• Support community engagement efforts
Requirements:
• Degree in Planning, Urban Geography, or related field
• Understanding of municipal regulations and policies
• Excellent writing and communication abilities
• Proficiency in reading development plans
• Familiarity with MS Office and GIS programs
