Position Summary
Under the direction of the Regional HSEQ Manager, the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Coordinator will assist in maintaining the company's health and safety systems in order to meet company and legislative compliance. This includes but is not limited to assisting with documenting training and assisting with WSIB case management.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, organize, manage, maintain, and administer the Health and Safety Program in collaboration with Health and Safety departmentRelay required safety information to all staffIdentify safety training requirements, make recommendations to Safety Committees, and schedule the training as approved and requiredConduct safety training within the scope of his/her experience and certificationComplete internal audits as requiredAssist with hazard assessmentsCoordinate regarding requirements for achieving COR CertificationMaintain the WHMIS program, including current SOS and staff trainingContribute positively to creating a safe and secure environment to support student learningAssist in the development, coordination, and maintenance of emergency preparedness plansProvide support with WSIB case management including being familiar with the Board's regulations and policiesWork closely with the managers and supervisors ensuring compliance with safety legislation and company programs while at workCoordinate the review of health and safety related policies and proceduresMonitor and advise on legislative and technical changes relating to health and safetyProvide information to employees on health and safetyMaintain and expand upon professional competenceOther tasks, as required by the Operation Leadership Team and/or Regional HSEQ.Safety comes first! Post-Secondary education in a related field of Helath & Safety or Human Resources1+ years of related work experience or a combination of COOP terms working on a HSEQ teamWilling to work towards NCSO certificationValid driver's license with an exemplary driving record.Work Conditions/Physical Demands
