Job Purpose

GSK is looking to hire a Health Outcomes Summer Student to join our Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) team. This role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence two days per week, and reports to the HEOR Director. The ideal candidate will be based in or near Mississauga, Ontario.

This is a paid summer student placement running from May 4, 2026 to August 28, 2026, intended for students returning to school following the contract. Internal referrals are welcome.

Role Summary

As a Health Outcomes Summer Student, you will support the design, development, and execution of research initiatives that enhance the effectiveness of healthcare decision-making. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners and contribute to projects that unite science, data, and health policy to improve patient outcomes.

Details (Your Responsibilities)
  • Conduct literature reviews, critical appraisals, and data synthesis to inform local healthcare decision-making

  • Perform basic descriptive, exploratory, and analytic analyses as required

  • Consult with cross-functional team members on study design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation for new research

  • Assist in the design and adaptation of health economic models for submission to Canadian reimbursement authorities

  • Support the writing, review, and preparation of scientific documents, including validation of quantitative data, for journal publications, conference presentations, and health technology assessments

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure research projects align with regulatory and scientific standards

  • Assist in project coordination across multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment

  • Ensuring all activities align with internal compliance and regulatory standards

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a related field

  • Experience with epidemiological, health outcomes, or real-world observational research in Canada

  • Familiarity with biostatistical methods, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong written, verbal, and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid and virtual environment (Microsoft Teams, online learning platforms)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Interest in quantitative health research and improving patient outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Previous experience contributing to scientific publications or health technology assessments

  • Exposure to health economic modeling and data validation techniques

  • Enthusiasm for collaborating in a cross-functional, fast-paced, and intellectually stimulating team environment
