We are seeking a Data QA Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. You will be responsible for ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and quality across our data pipelines and integrations. You will work closely with Data Engineers, Dev Ops, and Business Analysts to design and execute comprehensive testing strategies for ETL workflows, data transformations, and reporting solutions. This role focuses on automation, validation, and monitoring to deliver high-quality, production-ready data.

What will you be doing?

  • Design, develop, and execute data testing strategies to ensure accuracy and consistency across ETL pipelines.
  • Perform end-to-end data validation including schema checks, transformation rules, and business logic testing.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to identify data quality gaps and improve processes.
  • Build and maintain test automation frameworks for ETL, APIs, and data integration workflows.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of data anomalies and recommend fixes in collaboration with engineers.
  • Implement data quality rules and validation checks within tools like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse.
  • Partner with Dev Ops teams to automate testing in CI/CD pipelines using Azure Dev Ops.
  • Monitor data pipelines, proactively identify issues, and drive resolution before impacting stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of testing procedures, test cases, and validation reports.

  • Monitor data pipeline performance and proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks or issues.
  • Implement performance tuning strategies to optimize data processing and reduce latency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, infrastructure teams, including analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • What experience do you have?

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in Data Quality Assurance, ETL testing, or data pipeline validation.
  • Strong expertise in SQL for writing complex queries, joins, and data validation scripts.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, on-premises (SSIS) and other cloud-based data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages like Python or Power Shell.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Azure Dev Ops or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, and relational database concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering and business team
