Global Financial Firm seeks a Markets Data Controls Lead to support the global Markets data book of work.
Ensure timely execution of control deliverables to assess, define, and implement data controls across Markets.
Collaborate with Data Domain owners, Data Stewards, Technology, and Enterprise Data Office.
Drive data control transformation to manage poor data quality risk.
Require foundational knowledge of Data Governance practices and Data Quality principles.

Role Context:

Contractor position to drive delivery of critical data controls across Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Markets.
Focus on placing Critical Data Elements (CDEs) under governance.
Partner with Technology, Data Managers, and Use Case Leads to establish sustainable controls.
Act as SME, providing insight and leadership in data governance, control design, and issue remediation.
Requires a balance of technical understanding, business acumen, Markets product knowledge, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities:

Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of Data Controls for CDEs, including assessment, requirements definition, and transition to BAU.
Partner with Markets SMEs to run control assessments and ensure data is properly controlled.
Facilitate and monitor adherence to Data Quality dimensions.
Define business and regulatory requirements for new data controls and enhancements.
Coordinate with Technology to address control gaps and ensure remediation.
Manage data exceptions, including remediation planning and escalation processes.
Engage Markets SMEs and Data Consumers to validate control effectiveness.
Provide inputs into optimization of controls.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

8-12 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Risk/Controls functions within financial services or a similar industry.
Strong SQL skills with the ability to read and write complex scripts.
Proven ability to identify gaps, issues, and opportunities for improvement independently.
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and tasks with accountability for deliverables.
Strong understanding of data governance principles and Data Quality practices.
Hands-on experience with CDE level data controls implementation and Data Quality monitoring tools.
Understanding of exception management processes and ability to interpret Data Quality issues.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

Extensive experience in risk and control (First/Second Line) or relevant consulting within Markets or Financial Services.
Good knowledge of data used in Markets processes and data governance.
Experience in control assessments, control testing, and risk mitigation actions.

Education:

Bachelor s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Master s degree.
