Senior Network Specialist
Responsibilities

Lead the Network Services team in the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of a national retail network spanning distribution centers, and corporate locations.

Coordinate day‑to‑day team activities including prioritization, assignment, and oversight of operational and project‑based work.

Design and manage Azure networking including hub‑and‑spoke architectures, VNets, peering, private endpoints, NSGs, Azure Firewall, and load balancing.

Design, implement, and support scalable network architectures across LAN, WAN, wireless, SD‑WAN, and data center environments.

Support private cloud deployments in Azure, enabling secure connectivity between on‑prem data centers and cloud environments via VPN and Express Route.

Act as a senior escalation point for complex network and cloud incidents, providing advanced troubleshooting across WAN, SD‑WAN, and hybrid cloud environments.

Contribute to multi‑cloud networking strategies, ensuring consistent connectivity, routing, and security across Azure and other cloud platforms.

Drive network security design and enforcement, including segmentation, threat mitigation, and protection against denial‑of‑service and other attacks.

Lead large‑scale infrastructure rollouts including new deployments, network refreshes, SD‑WAN implementations, and cloud integration initiatives.

Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate, design, and deliver cost‑effective, scalable solutions.

Promote and enforce network standards, operational processes, and best practices across the environment.

Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including network diagrams, standards, and runbooks.

Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth and operational maturity within the team.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering, preferably in large‑scale retail or highly distributed environments.

Strong expertise in routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, QoS, segmentation, WAN technologies).

Deep experience with Azure networking including hub‑spoke design, VNets, peering, and hybrid connectivity (VPN, Express Route).

Experience supporting private and hybrid cloud environments, with exposure to multi‑cloud networking (Azure plus AWS and/or GCP).

Hands‑on experience with SD‑WAN and large‑scale branch connectivity.

Strong background in network security, including firewalls, segmentation, and threat mitigation strategies.

Proven ability to troubleshoot complex, high‑impact issues in large, distributed environments.

Experience leading projects, coordinating teams, and working in fast‑paced operational environments.

Strong vendor management and communication skills.

Familiarity with infrastructure automation (Power Shell, Python, Terraform) is an asset.

Relevant certifications (CCNP/CCIE, Azure Network Engineer Associate, etc.).

Nice to Have

Experience with Cisco ACI (data center) and Meraki (branch/retail) environments.

Knowledge of cloud networking patterns and micro segmentation strategies.
