Senior Business System Analyst

Title: IT Business Systems Analyst V

Duration: 6 months (possibility of extension)

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid 2 days a week, could change to 4 days a week)

MBO – The pod manages all updates to the MBO application (Messaging Back Office). Current focus is on Azure migration, requiring strong technical knowledge in Azure and Angular to support application delivery.

• Provide support and produce detailed system requirements and technical / functional specifications in alignment with standards and frameworks.
• Work in close partnership with business partners, technology and pod members, and stakeholders to elicit, analyse, document, communicate and manage detailed business systems requirements.
• Develop effective and efficient solutions by researching and analysing current state system capabilities and defining technology solution options and recommendations in collaboration with key technology partners.
• Define, document, and translate business requirements into detailed user stories, functional specifications, and non‑functional specifications.
• Support testing teams by translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and activities—stand‑ups, story refinements, and estimation of feature efforts, risk identification and mitigation recommendations, communicating activity status, and providing timely notifications and escalations to the pod.
• Participate in quality management reviews, ensuring designs, prototypes and other requirements work products fulfil the requirements.
• Collaborate with pod members and key stakeholders to determine solutions, assess impact to existing work processes and systems, and manage integration.
• Provide operational and process‑related analysis and support to varying extents.
• Ensure best practices related to the BSA discipline are adhered to and enforced within project processes and deliverables.
• Adhere to client processes and standards, including requirements management, project management disciplines, enterprise technology delivery practices, and business technology architecture, escalating issues as required.
• Continuously enhance knowledge and expertise in core areas, staying current with leading‑edge technologies and client services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools, and techniques that contribute to effective solution development and delivery.
• Continuously enhance knowledge of business domains and their products and services.
• Maintain ongoing communication with all stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Perform BSA tasks effectively while assigned to one or multiple concurrent projects.
• Prioritise and manage own workload to deliver quality requirements and user stories and meet timelines.
• Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork, and ensure timely communication of issues and points of interest.
• Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units.
• Coach new or less experienced colleagues and act as a reference for the requirements management lifecycle.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team.

• Banking and Agile delivery experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Solid understanding of API calls, Angular, Java, Azure.
• Experience/knowledge in Behaviour Driven Design (BDD).

• Jira / Confluence – 5 years.
• API calls, Angular, Java, Azure – 3 years recent experience.

• Solid communication.
• Experience working in an Agile environment – 5 years.
• IT BSA experience – 5 years.
• Jira and Confluence proficiency – 5 years.
• Knowledge of APIs, data marts, Java, and Azure – Yes.
• Relationship management – 5 years.
• Technical delivery experience – 5 years.
