The Data Scientist – Level 5 serves as a strategic leader in advancing McKesson’s data science capabilities to solve complex business and IT challenges. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced predictive analytics and machine learning models that enable data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. Operating within a regulated environment, the role ensures compliance while driving innovation and measurable impact.

This role directs the integration of large, varied datasets, architects specialized databases, and oversees computing environments for data science projects. The Data Scientist collaborates with engineering, service teams, and business stakeholders to align solutions with enterprise priorities. Additionally, the position provides technical guidance, mentorship, and thought leadership to promote best practices and foster data literacy across the organization.

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced predictive analytics and machine learning models to address complex business and IT challenges.
• Oversee integration and preparation of large datasets, architect specialized databases, and manage computing environments for data science projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data science team members, ensuring adherence to best practices in modeling, automation, and visualization.
• Direct the creation and presentation of data visualizations, dashboards, and analytical findings to leadership, IT, and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering and service management teams to align data science solutions with business needs and coordinate resources for successful execution.
• Communicate predictions and insights to leadership, recommending effective changes to procedures, processes, and strategies.
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership, supporting enterprise-wide data-driven decision-making.
• Drive adoption of emerging technologies and innovative approaches to strengthen McKesson’s data science capabilities.

• Expertise in model deployment patterns (batch/stream) and scalable scoring solutions.
• Expertise in model evaluation frameworks, champion–challenger testing, and lifecycle metrics.
• Expertise in ML model interpretability for governance and audit requirements.
• Expertise in predictive modeling across diverse business problem types under production constraints.
• Advanced capability in synthetic data generation for augmentation and privacy-preserving use.
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations.
• Ability to lead design and development of advanced analytics solutions across teams.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentor junior data scientists to ensure quality delivery.
