Senior Transaction Monitoring Analyst

Shape transaction monitoring at Kraken with Python, SQL, and statistical analysis while working remotely from Canada, the United States, or Brazil.

This Senior Data Analyst, Compliance role focuses on detection logic for deposits and withdrawals across Kraken’s global crypto platform. You will partner with Compliance to analyze patterns, refine rules, and preserve correctness across thresholds, segmentation, date windows, and deduplication. You will also evaluate historical performance and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.

• Translate compliance requirements into production detection logic
• Study transaction patterns and refine monitoring rules
• Design reproducible evaluations using historical data
• Investigate data quality issues and pipeline failures
• Maintain downstream alert delivery and compliance integrations

• Seven-plus years of relevant data experience
• Experience supporting compliance, fraud, funding, or finance teams
• Strong Python and SQL skills for analytical systems
• Proficiency with BI tools and executive-facing dashboards
• Ability to explain technical findings and uncertainty clearly
