    Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

    About the role

    We’re looking for a Casualty
    Claims Advisor to help get our customers back on track so they can focus on what matters most.

    As a Casualty
    Claims Advisor within our Specialty Lines Transportation and Marine Team
    , you’ll be part of a national group handling claims across Canada and the United States.

    You’ll collaborate with teams across North America to investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex third-party bodily injury claims related to Transport trucks, Ontario facility, and marine vessels. Your expertise in claims handling will allow you to analyze and act decisively.

    Your strong negotiation skills will help you recognize exposures and proactively drive effective resolutions. We value professionals who can think critically, prioritize, and find creative solutions, within a highly collaborative and energetic team environment.

    What you’ll do here:

    · Investigate, analyze, evaluate, quantify and report on intermediate to complex Bodily Injury files

    · Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and assess entitlements which are fair and equitable

    · Collect reports and statements to determine liability and coverage

    · Within established authority limits, negotiate effective settlements of claims, attend courts proceedings, mediations and settlement meetings

    · Manage losses throughout Canada and USA

    · Working with the Facility Association and completing semi annual reports

    · Work in a team environment, acting as a mentor, role model and technical resource for others on the team

    · Knowledgeable of insurance case law and regulatory changes while being available as a mentor, role model and technical resource for others

    · Work effectively with Defence and Plaintiff counsels alike with the goal of resolving the file in a timely manner on all levels of claims

    · Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with the customer, claimants, lawyers and insurers to settle claims and report findings and settlements

    What you bring to the table:

    · Minimum of 5 years handling Auto Casualty claims

    · Ontario tort and litigation claims handling expertise is required

    · Knowledge of legislation and regulatory changes governing auto insurance in multiple jurisdictions

    · Analytical skills, detail-oriented and organized

    · Ability to multitask and juggle competing priorities

    · Commercial casualty and/or marine claims experience is considered an asset

    · Willingness to obtain provincial adjusting licenses

    · Completed or actively pursuing CIP designation is a strong asset

    · Bilingual in English and French is an asset
