Job Description
What is the opportunity?
This senior leadership position is responsible for leading a large team that is accountable for end-to-end new business client acquisition and service that includes Operations Administration, Case Coordinator, and Underwriting teams. This position will also act as an RBC Insurance ambassador and liaison within the Insurance Industry and with our key MGAs, National Accounts and Individual Advisor relationships to foster a strong industry presence and reputation.
What will you do?
Lead highly skilled underwriting and operations teams to deliver efficient policy intake, issuance, and settlement, ensuring alignment with product pricing and risk philosophy guidelines
Develop and execute strategies and tactics to deliver strong portfolio quality and superior differentiated service experience within New Business Operations
Work closely with cross functional partners including proprietary and brokerage sales, audit, actuarial, corporate underwriting and reinsurance
Partner with our Sales and Product teams to position RBC Insurance as the carrier of choice for our Brokerage partners and our Individual clients
Leverage Data and Analytics to provide insights and operational strategies to enable efficient and effective growth of our business
Create an environment and culture which attracts and engages top talent
What will you need to succeed?
Must have
Minimum 10 years’ experience in leading Individual Life, Living Benefits, Critical Illness and Long-Term Coverage, New Business and Underwriting Operations
Ability to build trust and strong partnerships both across RBC Insurance and RBC as well as in the Industry with our MGA’s, National Accounts, and Advisors
Proven experience in leading diverse and complex client facing teams of Underwriters, Case Coordinators, and Operation roles supporting the end-to-end Client acquisition process to achieve business objectives and service level commitments.
Deep understanding of end-to-end insurance financial dynamics, including pricing, profitability, and portfolio quality
Passion for creating an Industry leading Advisor and client experience
Curiosity and Innovative mindset to lead and execute strategies that evolve our Individual New Business acquisition model to align with market demands and create scalable operations to manage growth
Leadership skills to influence and partner across a matrix management organization
Ability to drive Conceptual thinking, transformational insight and change
University degree, related industry designation and educational credentials
