Job Type: Full-time, permanent

The logistics assistant manager’s role is focused on supporting the logistics manager with leading our logistics team to meet business supply needs in a timely manner. This includes supporting with daily tasks to ensure seamless product flow to customers/vendors as well as closely working with the logistics coordinator to ensure ongoing compliance with import/export permits.

Supporting the Logistics manager with:

• Scheduling of freight carriers for shipping/receiving
• Managing daily shipping/receiving schedules
• Sourcing carriers and negotiate freight rates
• Coordinating new vendor setup in Terrapure systems
• Logging deliveries/shipments in appropriate systems
• Maintaining accurate costs and monitors price changes within Terrapure systems
• Partnering closely with the Commercial group to address inventory and shipping challenges
• Identifying and fixing issues in a timely manner
• Assisting with problem resolution on damages, incorrect shipments and packaging issues
• Tracking freight metrics within Share Point
• Coordinating year-end governmental reporting with customers
• Managing logistics staff as designated
• Other duties as assigned

Supporting the Logistics coordinator with:

• Managing transboundary permits for Terrapure
• Governmental reporting as required
• Other duties as assigned

• Post secondary education within related field
• Minimum 3 years logistics experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of SAP
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment under tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills (fluency in French is an asset)
