Logistics Supervisor, International Logistics And Materials Management; Air, Ocean And Road

Key Responsibilities International Logistics & Transportation Management

• Coordinate and manage international and domestic shipments via Air, Ocean, and Ground transportation.
• Oversee relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers.
• Manage transportation activities across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia.
• Ensure timely movement of raw materials, components, and finished goods to support manufacturing and customer requirements.
• Evaluate carrier performance, negotiate rates, and identify transportation cost‑saving opportunities.
• Monitor freight spend and implement logistics strategies to improve service levels and reduce costs.
• Manage expedited shipments and resolve transportation disruptions, delays, and service issues.

• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and import/export requirements.
• Maintain expertise in HS/HTS tariff classifications , customs valuation, duties, and country‑of‑origin requirements.
• Coordinate customs clearance activities with brokers and regulatory agencies.
• Support import/export documentation processes including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, shipping documentation, and customs declarations.
• Monitor changes in international trade regulations and advise the organization on compliance requirements.
• Support duty optimization programs, tariff management, and customs audits.

• Partner with Procurement and Operations teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow to production.
• Monitor inventory levels and support inventory optimization initiatives.
• Assist with material planning, demand planning, and replenishment strategies.
• Improve visibility of inbound supply and reduce supply chain risks.
• Support working capital reduction initiatives while maintaining service and production requirements.
• Coordinate inventory transfers and material movement across facilities and suppliers.

• Analyze logistics data, transportation metrics, and supply chain performance.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Lead logistics cost‑reduction initiatives and transportation optimization projects.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for logistics and materials management activities.
• Support ERP system improvements and supply chain process enhancements.

• Provide guidance and support to shipping, receiving, and logistics personnel.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Procurement, Operations, Finance, Project Management, and Customer Service.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
• Participate in supply chain planning and operational review meetings.

• International Logistics Experience
• Minimum 3-5+ years of experience managing international logistics operations involving:
  Air Freight
• Ocean Freight
• Road Transportation
• Experience coordinating shipments across North America, Europe, and Asia.
• Experience managing freight forwarders, transportation providers, and customs brokers.
• Customs & Trade Compliance Expertise
• Strong knowledge of:
  Import/Export regulations
• Customs compliance
• Trade compliance
• HS/HTS tariff classifications
• Duties and taxes
• Customs documentation
• International shipping regulations
• Manufacturing Supply Chain Experience
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations through logistics and material flow management.
• Knowledge of inventory management, materials planning, and supply chain coordination.
• Experience optimizing inventory levels while supporting production requirements.
