Facilities Maintenance Support – Full Time, Temporary Contract (8 weeks) – 1 Opening
Mississauga, Ontario
$18.00/hour

Position Description :
Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, as the Facilities Maintenance Support, you will assist in the maintenance and operations of buildings across Indwell’s supportive housing portfolio. Stewarding resources to ensure high standards of quality in our infrastructure, sites and services while maintaining strong working relationships with program staff and tenants alike.
Hours of Work :
Full time, 35 hours per week. Primarily weekdays, although hours can change based on program needs. This position is a temporary contract, ending after 8 weeks. Position length and hours subject to approval by Service Canada.
- Respond to maintenance and repair needs throughout Indwell’s buildings in the area.
- Document work orders, updating status and completion dates as required in Yardi (Indwell’s property management software).
- Perform repairs, upgrades and cleaning to ensure that vacated apartments are ready for new tenants as part of turnover process.
- Complete monthly inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Perform tasks such as painting, drywall patching, repairs to plumbing and electrical fixtures.
- Coordinate pick-up and delivery of materials from suppliers.
- Be aware of and follow all agency policies and procedures.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Relevant experience in trades, construction, or property maintenance.
- Experience in property management, maintenance, or facility operations.
- Proficiency in the use of a variety of tools and equipment.
- Commitment to promoting and demonstrating the vision, mission, and values of Indwell within the workplace and community.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player, communicating effectively via various means (i.e. phone, email, Office 365 Suite).
- Capacity to perform moderate to heavy work in all types of weather. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, kneel, walk, and lift heavy objects (up to 25kg).
- A current Vulnerable Sector Police Check or willingness to obtain at one's own cost.
- Valid 'G' class driver's license and access to vehicle recommended.
- Be between the ages of 18-30 at start of employment.
- Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
- Be in possession of a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Be available to work for the duration of the contract.
$18/hr; hours and position length subject to approval by Service Canada – Canada Summer Jobs.
