Reporting to the CFO, the Vice President, Finance is a managerial role who oversees financial matters for our companies. With a hands‑on approach to all aspects of an organization’s finances, the successful candidate will be responsible for the financial activities of the organization to maximize a company’s profits and plan for its growth. The role includes analyzing data and advising the CEO and CFO on ways to use that information to make strategic decisions about the organization’s future.

- Provide leadership to the financial reporting team in a fast‑paced, efficient work environment in order to meet deliverables – high‑quality, accurate and time‑sensitive output.
- Collaborate with FP&A team to ensure consistent reporting and processes across the portfolio companies.
- Review financial processes and policies across portfolio companies to ensure accurate and consistent consolidation of financial reporting.
- Prepare reporting packages to executive leadership and Board of Directors.
- Review and advise on legal agreements as required, while considering impacts on other areas (insurance, leasing, credit agreements, supply agreements, etc.).
- Develop reporting packages and forecast models used for raising capital.
- Oversee company compliance with various regulations and legislation.
- Manage the end‑to‑end aspects and prepare memos for strategic projects, including data gathering, cross‑functional collaboration, communicating issues and management of those issues with key stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the following areas is beneficial: mergers and acquisitions, contracts, consolidation, inventory management, treasury.
- University degree supplemented by a Canadian professional accounting designation or a similar designation (e.g., CPA, CA; MBA).
- 7‑10 years of progressive experience in financial and business management.
- Strong writing skills to produce business cases, reports, briefings, and requirements documentation.
- Experience in the review of legal documents and contracts.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging strong verbal and communication skills to prepare and deliver presentations, including to senior executives.
- Ability to work independently to achieve results yet still able to maintain a collaborative approach when required.
- Ability to manage deadlines.
- Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent research and analytical skills to participate in the review of current practices/processes and the development of new processes, to assess impacts of changes on the organization and external stakeholders.
- Highly developed business acumen.
